The 2020 Kawasaki Z900 has arrived and Visordown is here to bring you our first riding impressions of the updated naked... find out what we thought
It’s one of the most important models in its huge range of motorcycles, so you cannot underestimate the importance of the latest generation Kawasaki Z900.
Revealed at EICMA, the 2020 Kawasaki Z900 gets an updated – or ‘next step’ – refresh of the Japanese firm’s Z Sugomi styling to ensure it stands out from its rivals, plus a host of other features designed to bring it right back up to speed.
Going up against the likes of the new Triumph Street Triple, can the Kawasaki Z900 reclaim its spot at the top of the class?
We’ve been lucky enough to escape the winter blues in favour of some sunnier climes in Spain to put it through its paces and, on first impressions, we like what we see…
Kawasaki Z900 First Impressions
Under that Z H2-inspired skin, the Z900 is now available with KTRC rider modes – Rain, Road, Sport and a user configurable mode – plus the chance to tweak the engine to your liking.
New for 2020, Kawasaki has also added in its new TFT colour instrument screen, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and all-LED lighting.
Perhaps most importantly, Kawasaki has been fettling away at the 948cc engine to ensure the Z900 now meets upcoming Euro5 emissions targets, which should give a new lease of life to the 125PS, 9,500 rpm. It has also been tweaked to offer a smoother throttle response.
This is just a taster - we’re spending a little more time with the model so we can bring you the FULL VERDICT imminently… stay tuned to Visordown for more!
